Sam Dashiell is a communications and public affairs professional in Washington, D.C., specializing in grasstops and grassroots mobilization, crisis communications and corporate reputation management at the national, state and local levels.
In April 2020, Dashiell assumed the role of Senior Specialist of U.S. Communications at Philip Morris International (PMI) where he develops and executes communications to drive the company’s transformation, as well as on other issues such as illicit trade prevention.
Before joining PMI, Dashiell was a Director of Public Affairs at PLUS Communications, where he led campaigns recognized at the highest level of the industry, including PRWeek’s “Best in Public Affairs” and “Best for a Cause” for securing bipartisan support to drive change of the Louisiana criminal justice system and working to help 800,000 Dreamers reach their American dream, respectively.
In addition to these efforts, Dashiell led a successful field operation across the U.S. to strike down the proposed “Rebate Rule” in 2019; managed crisis communications for two industry-leading companies’ litigation; and consulted a pro-bono campaign to amplify brand recognition for Homestretch, Inc.—a Falls Church-based charity that empowers homeless parents with children to attain permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
Before his career in communications and public affairs, Dashiell worked in political fundraising at the Republican Governors Association (RGA) and The Gula Graham Group.
Dashiell was born in South Bend, IN, and attended Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA. He then went on to be a Division 1 kicker for Furman University in Greenville, SC, where he received a bachelor’s degree in political science.
