Kathleen Yanik is communications manager at the Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B), a metro Detroit nonprofit focused on helping older adults. She leads the agency’s digital marketing efforts—managing the organization’s web presence and supervising a small team in media relations, email and social media efforts.
SEO and content management are two areas of focus for her. She recently secured a content partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan that has helped amplify the AAA 1-B’s digital presence. Through the partnership, she contributes a regular blog on caregiving to the organization’s popular A Healthier Michigan website. A love of both technology and storytelling led Yanik to digital marketing. She was attracted to digital’s ever-evolving nature. “There’s always something new and something new to learn,” she says. “That’s what I love about it.” Yanik holds a bachelor’s in public relations from Wayne State University.
