Karin has been a leader in exercise physiology and program development for the last 20 years. In 2005, she joined the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan. In her position as Associate Director of Group Exercise Programs at the May Center, she built an innovative and inclusive group exercise program for a variety of ages and fitness levels. She oversees more than 100 weekly fitness classes and supervises a staff of 85 instructors. In 2015, she developed and launched PEP! Parkinson's Exercise Program, a medical fitness regimen for people with Parkinson's Disease, in collaboration with and supported by the Robert and John M. Bendheim Parkinson and Movement Disorders Center at the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine.
In addition to exercise program design and management, Karin loves teaching fitness classes. She enjoys connecting with people of varied backgrounds and experiences. "Facilitating change” is her motto, and she strives to be a leader with compassion and moxy . Karin is a passionate athlete who never loses sight of her personal health goals and approaches everything she does with humor, joy, and an open heart. |
