Mr. Iván López joined Caribbean American in April 1997 as Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations, President of Caribbean American Agency Insurance Company and a Member of the Board of Directors of the three companies operating in Puerto Rico as part of the American Bankers Group. In April 2000 he was promoted to President for Caribbean American Life Assurance Company, Caribbean American Property Insurance Company, American Bankers Dominicana, S.A, Caribbean American de Panamá, Cía de Seguros as well as the Caribbean Region operations. In 2003 he was named the first Assurant President, Latin America in charge of the Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico operations.
In January 2009, Iván was promoted to CFO, Assurant Solutions assuming responsibilities over accounting, finance, financial planning, actuarial, risk management and temporarily over information systems. In October 2016 Iván was promoted to President of Global Assistance and Financial Services. In May 2018, Iván became Assurant representative and Board of Director member in Iké Assurant’s 40% investment in the largest privately-owned assistance business in Latin America with operations in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil. In May 2020, after selling Assurant 40% interest in Ike, Ivan assumed responsibility over the development of new channels of distribution to grow one of Assurant’s most profitable lines of business and assume co leadership of the integration process of a 4Q2020 $325M acquisition. Ivan is an attorney admitted to practice in Puerto Rico, a Certified Public Accountant and he was a Life and Property insurance agent. Ivan is currently pursuing an EDBA at Rollins University. He obtained a Law degree from Universidad de Puerto Rico and an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, with concentrations in International Management and Accounting. |
