Emily Barr is the Marketing Coordinator for Barcelona Wine Bar and Curator at Conserva.
Emily graduated from the Columbian College of The George Washington University in 2019, with a Bachelors of Arts in History, and a concentration in Italian History. Emily’s early career included placements at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the US House of Representatives, The Roman Colosseum and Sala 1 Galleria, where she co-curated the first digital art exhibition delineated entirely on social media platforms in Europe.
Joining Barcelona Wine Bar on 14th Street as a part time host in 2017, Emily quickly became lead host and then floor manager. Within these roles, Emily’s focus was on guest experience and recovery. During her tenure, Emily maintained other opportunities in placements such as digital art space, ARTECHOUSE. Emily never foresaw a career in the restaurant industry, but the hospitality, art, design, and craft that increasingly seeped in redefined what her future career path would look like.
In 2019, Emily joined the small Brand Marketing team at Barcelona as Marketing Coordinator. In this role, Emily heads Guest Relations and Social Media, for all 18 Barcelona Wine Bars. Additionally, Emily directly supports Brand Director, Drew McConnell, in Art & Creative Direction, PR Coordination, Photography, Design, Web Development, and project management.
In addition to her role at Barcelona, Emily is the Curator at Conserva, a lifestyle e-commerce brand by Barcelona, founded in 2020 by Gretchen Thomas and Drew McConnell. From inception and launch, her role spans everything from brand image to international procurement.
